Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number (“ATIN”)

Temporary taxpayer identification number issued by the Internal Revenue Service. The number is issued for a child in a domestic adoption in order to claim the child as a dependent on the parents’ Federal Income Tax Return while a final domestic adoption is pending and the child does not yet have a social security number.

A national non-profit financial assistance program providing grants of up to $15,000.00 towards domestic, international, foster or special needs adoption expenses to qualified couples or individuals. Applications are open to any US citizen able to demonstrate significant financial need.
